Mayhem Monday…plus one

I posted an awesome giveaway yesterday from Disney (Canadians, go check it out and enter! Last giveaway of 2014!) so Mayhem Monday has become Mayhem Tuesday for this week. I was also busy prepping (and devouring) this amazing vegan stew recipe I found on One Green Planet (I omitted the seitan and added a second portobello).

Was also busy making (and eating) this amazing vegan stew. Mmmm...
It was all business in the kitchen this week.

This is the little man’s last week of preschool before winter break. I’m kind of excited to not have to get 3 kids dressed up and out the door 2 a day, 3 days a week for a couple of weeks. I’m sure after an hour of the boys fighting and screaming at each other, I’ll be tempted to just drop him off outside his preschool door for a couple of weeks hours to get some peace and quiet. We shall soon see. I am looking forward to his first concert this week. What could be cuter than a multitude of 4 year olds singing off-key, gesturing wildly to the audience or simply staring blankly not knowing where the heck they are or what they heck they’re supposed to be doing. Good times will abound.

Last week, I finished my first phase of training at the gym and feel amazing. You can check that update out in more detail here. This week is a bonus week where I’ll be training 3 days in a row in prep for Christmas (and birthday) fun. Yesterday was all about the cardio. It was epic. Thankfully, my running background makes the cardio workouts bearable but I think I was still sweating about an hour after the workout ended. We’ll soon see what today will bring!

I’m also going to be taking a blogging siesta over the holidays. In past years, I try to post a couple of times and if the mood strikes, I may do that this year, but for now, I think I need a break. I love this blog and I love writing for the 2 people who actually stop by to read it but I want to focus on my family even more this year and really slow down and relax a bit. This site will still be here in the New Year (unless I get hacked…) and so will I (unless the workouts this week do, in fact, kill me…).

And if you’re still looking for awesomeness, check out PRO Compression’s year end sale! 42% off your order! Whoo hoo! They now have marathon wool socks!! Perfect for winter running!

Now off to make a million cookies and cupcakes for various holiday events. Good thing I skipped breakfast 😉

Why Living Minimally is Not the Same as Living Cheaply

Since heading up this journey to minimalism over a year ago I’d say I’ve had equal amount of support and scoffing sent in my general direction. I’ve heard words like “impossible”, “stupid”, “not good for my kids” and so forth. I think there is a HUGE misconception out there about what it means to live… Continue Reading
