Mayhem Monday: Changing Addresses

Well last week was certainly full of highs and lows. After spending a week with the cold/snot bug in our house, the puke bug decided to piggy back its way in as well. Can we say worst two weeks?! Ugh. I hate puke. It was not fun. I think I lost friends over those two bugs because no one wanted me or my diseased family to come near them. I don’t blame them. I didn’t want to be around me either.

Happily though, I think we’re getting back to normal so hopefully we can stay up and over the rush of fall germs and start living life again!

Speaking of living life, I had an absolutely awesome time living over the weekend. As in running a 12 hour trail race on a team of 3. Seriously!! It was so much fun. More details on it coming up soon but it was such a lovely day. Perfect weather, awesome teammates, the best cheat food around (if I wasn’t feeling sick to my stomach before, that pretty much would have sealed it…) and hitting an all time high running distance of 40K! Nice! No wonder I’m walking funny and my hips and calves hate me guts right now!

Also new is that this site is going to be moving!! After 5 years here, life looks very different. I’m no longer a struggling mom of 1 trying to pull myself out of the depths of postpartum depression. I’m not longer in a place where I hope to gain a few readers here and there as I write out some thoughts and experiences here and there (good thing because…crickets). I just like writing, and if no one reads it…that’s ok too. I have 3 awesome kids now and I feel like as I head into the downward tumble into the latter half of my 30’s, life in general is just different. I have a better understanding of myself but still have a long way to go. I’m learning to accept the way things are and not always strive to find the better in every situation. And I’m just older and perhaps, a wee bit wiser (or perhaps more delusional…either way…).

So you can head over to my new home at Running Toward the Harvest. A site that took more time to figure out than I want to admit (I’m still horridly tech-dense…it keeps me humble) but that I’m hoping will soon become home. I’ll still write about all the things I love in life and maybe a few that I don’t but this site is a better representation of where I’m at in life now. I’ll still write here but will be gradually phasing the new content out and by early 2016, I should be writing exclusively under the new site.

I’m excited! I hope you are too!

Cheers to new adventures, new chapters and hopefully…a week without puke! Booya!

Mayhem Monday: New Beginnings

So first of all, I passed my personal training exams. Paaaaasssssssed!! So happy about that because I was seriously worried about the written. Not only was I stuck studying for it later at night after the kids went to bed when I wasn’t at my most mentally engaged, but on this elimination plan for my… Continue Reading

Mayhem Monday: Seeing Double

Life likes to give out a bunch of firsts: first steps, first words, first crush, first job. This week, I experienced a less-than-stellar first: First time having my content stolen. Like…all of it. I wish I was joking. Content scraping, as it’s apparently referred to, is nothing new. People out there apparently have a bit… Continue Reading

Fuel YOUR Better with Vega Free Training Plans (includes Giveaway!)

It’s summertime and with that comes hot, humid temperatures. Though I love the heat, I definitely don’t like working out in it. I feel slow, sluggish and if I don’t fuel properly throughout the day, I am hungry and dehydrated. Not the best feeling when you’re trying to work hard. Summer also means a lot… Continue Reading
