So first of all, I passed my personal training exams. Paaaaasssssssed!! So happy about that because I was seriously worried about the written. Not only was I stuck studying for it later at night after the kids went to bed when I wasn’t at my most mentally engaged, but on this elimination plan for my gut, I was also doing it without my typical study foods: coffee, chips, coffee, coffee and chocolate. Brain food for sure, right?! I ended up doing better than expected which was a nice surprise and now I can put the studying behind me and focus more time and energy on learning to do my job and enjoying my family again! At least for a few weeks. The work never really ends does it?!
And enjoying my free time is exactly what I spent last week doing. I crocheted a hat for my baby girl for winter and an infinity scarf for myself, thereby ensuring that summer weather would continue on for at least another couple of weeks. You’re welcome.
Anyone else go geek over the awesome moon last night?! I was out with my camera in my front yard trying to capture a National Geographic worthy picture. Obviously that didn’t happen but boy was it amazing to witness something so cool!
I also have a doozy of a race this coming Saturday. In the spirit of doing all things crazy (which has been a running theme for me this year), I signed up for a 12 hour, 3 person relay on the trails this weekend. I haven’t run in a couple of weeks. I spent most of last week sick with my typical September cold. My calves have had the tendency to seize up on me every so often. But it’s all good and other than the 4am wake up call (*weeping softly over here*), I’m not at all worried about it. I’m sure I’m going to feel somewhat terrible after it’s done but the loops are short, the rest time will be longer and there’s no set distance, only time. My team is also going to be awesome and I’m really hoping hubby will come out with the kids for a bit to cheer us on. It’s going to be a good time.
I also registered for our local Twilight Run just before Halloween. It’s a 5k done on the trails, at night. I haven’t done it in a couple of years and I cannot wait! It’s all for fun, costumes everywhere and I’m just excited to make it a bit of a girls night! I just need to come up with a costume idea and I’m good to go!
So this week will be about working hard, then tapering off to keep my legs fresh for the weekend. Whoo hoo!
