Fukumoto Friday: Week 42

This week was member appreciation week. As a member…it’s nice to be appreciated :) It was actually a lot of fun. Different sessions to take part in, samples of products the gym stands behind, new stuff to learn and getting to see and meet people that normally train at different times or on different days. It was a lot of fun!

Going into this week and knowing I’d be doing at least two workouts and trying to get a run or two in (now that I’m signed up for the WFPS 10k in October!), I was a bit nervous about how I’d feel with doing this elimination diet and just how awful I felt on days 2-4. Thankfully, I felt really good for everything I did. I think after day 4 (I’m on day 7 now) and especially after I found a list of approved foods that was more inclusive than the piddly little list included in my cleanse kit, I started to feel more like myself. I know I’m waking up feeling a bit more refreshed so that’s good. I’m still missing my coffee, potatoes, wine and crackers but I’m surviving. It’s the end goal right?!

Anyway, back to member week. I did a great workout called warrior fit that was ridiculously fun. It’s kind of martial arts inspired with lots of kicking and punching stuff (not people…though there’s always the imagination for that 😉 ). Our coach is awesome and full of good energy which just adds to the fun of the workout. Apparently my hubby was right…I do have some anger issues. I may need to sign up to take this class more often as my therapy…

Next week, we get back to our regular schedule and it also means that I only have 2 more weeks to study for my personal training exam. Things just got a bit panicky around here. I do not feel ready for either the written or practical. I know two weeks is a long time but with kids at home, this elimination diet thing, it’s been hard to get the amount of studying in that I had hoped too. I also need to get over to the gym that I’ll be doing my practical exam at and learn how to use the machines there since that’s what I’ll be needing to know to pass. I have exactly zero clue how most of them work or why people use them. Oy…
