Mayhem Monday: Seeing Double

Life likes to give out a bunch of firsts: first steps, first words, first crush, first job. This week, I experienced a less-than-stellar first: First time having my content stolen. Like…all of it. I wish I was joking.

Content scraping, as it’s apparently referred to, is nothing new. People out there apparently have a bit too much free time and money to spend so it’s about as common as stealing pictures off sites and reposting them as your own. Definitely not cool though. And let’s be honest here…my content–>not exactly page-turning news. Heck, I fall asleep writing it sometimes so why anyone would want to lift it…no clue. Either way, it’s been taken care of (I feel so Godfather saying that :) )

That very well may have been the most excitement had around here this last week. Nothing but drama, I tell you.

Actually, it was a week full of play-dates and adventures for me and the kids and it was absolutely wonderful. Now that the boys are a bit older, I adore watching them interact with other kids their age and listening to their imaginations running wild. I will also freely admit that when they all play nicely together, I whole-heartedly enjoy the moments of quiet it gives me in my day to visit with a friend or to enjoy a few moments of guilt-free me time.

Up and down and around and around.
Up and down and around and around.

This week it’s the final countdown to Dirty Donkey on Saturday and one last blast at the hills will be among my final prep. It should be a good time even though my organized over-thinking brain is not computing the fact that the Kick Ass heat that I’m now registered in is completely unknown. Not just because I don’t know the obstacles or what to expect because I’ve never run this race before but even the distance is unknown. A very interesting dynamic indeed. I don’t even know what the consequence is for not finishing an obstacle. I feel like my high-school self all over again-aka asking important questions about a term paper the day before it’s due. I was not born to be a scholar, of this I (and most of my teachers) am absolutely sure of.

Otherwise, I think it’ll be a fairly quiet week here. With all the outings and missed naps and quiet time last week, I kind of burnt my boys out a bit and they crashed hard all day Thursday so I think I’ll go easier on them this week.

Have a fabulous week!
