Fukumoto Friday: Week 22

I love my foam roller. Big puffy heart love it. This week, we started a body building phase and the DOMS from that have had me making mad love to my roller. And my tennis ball. My goodness it’s fabulous.


As I mentioned before, I’m doing 3 workouts per week for this phase (and talk about picking the best phase to do it!!) so I had my first couple on Tuesday and yesterday. I deadlifted with two kettlebells for the first time. It was awesome. Hard, but awesome. I couldn’t figure out what about it was so hard until later after my workout when I realized that I was deadlifting over 100lbs. I would have done an epic flex-down but my arms were so tired/sore from the workout overall, I couldn’t lift them past my waist. Maybe next week.

We’re also starting a fundraiser to help raise funds to send Romanian orphans to camp. I think this is a fabulous initiative and I’m so happy to be taking part in the efforts. Unfortunately, my fundraising skills are not very good so this will be a test in my creativity. I think the best part of this challenge is that as fundraisers, we will be doing burpees for dollars. In other words, for every dollar I raise, I do one burpee. So imagine the fun I would have if I raised a few hundred dollars. Yep…a few hundred burpees. This is a great opportunity for anyone I’ve ever annoyed to death to get complete and full retribution against me. I imagine my parents will be well on board for this. Hopefully a lot of you will be as well.
