This week marks 4 weeks since I gave birth to the Little Lady. My how time flies. I can’t believe how big she’s getting already. I was just looking at pictures we took in the hospital right after she was born and she’s grown so much. I love that she’s having more times of alertness. She looks like she’s going to end up with brown eyes but boy, does she have beautiful big eyes. She’s had a lot of fussy time, especially around dinnertime and after but we’re slowly settling into a routine. It’s not set in stone and we’re still taking every day as it comes but each day brings a bit less uncertainly which is not only good for me but is good for the boys too.
The past weekend, I ended up getting both me and the Little Lady sick. I started getting a fever at night and by morning, felt like I’d been hit by a bus. The baby had a fever in the morning but thankfully, we both broke our fevers within a day and are on the mend.
It was actually a blessing in disguise because I’d been running myself pretty ragged over the past couple of weeks trying to get everything done that I needed to, tend to the kids, feed everyone, make sure hubby wasn’t stressing too much after work (not sure I succeeded there). I was going, going, going and not taking any time to slow down and relax. Not that I enjoy being sick and I especially didn’t like the baby getting sick but it forced me to sleep and rest (and the baby gave me a solid 5 hour stretch, followed by a nearly 4 hour stretch. We were both better for it.
This week, I’m hoping to get back to walking. Nothing major, maybe 15-20 minutes a few times during the week. I just want to move and see how I feel. It may not happen this week. I’m not stressing over it.
Stay tuned to the blog tomorrow for my first Body After Baby post.
Have a great week everyone!
