A Run to the Park

There is nothing better than a long weekend. When you have a long weekend with beautiful weather and family, it’s absolute bliss.

I was so happy to have so much time to spend with my babies. Finally starting to feel better, I had some energy to play with them.

Yesterday, hubby declared that he wanted to go for a run. Our summer, so far, has been the perfect summer for running. Not a ton of humidity, beautiful cool mornings and evenings. Every runner’s (and every pregnant lady’s) dream weather. So while he set off on a run, I packed the boys up in the double jogger, gave them lots of snacks and we did a run/walk over to one of our favorite parks.

The run felt awesome. The cool, crisp air was wonderful and the cheers from the boys to “just keep running Mama” were adorable. I even got a few cheers from other walker’s and joggers on the path.

Once we got to the park, the boys set to work covering every square inch of it while we waited for hubby to meet us there. Then they wanted to play “racers”. So we ran some races. I definitely have some future runners on my hands. Fast ones.

After, we started out for home and the kids quickly demanded that we run home. So run home we did. Once there, it was time for a water balloon fight. Not much of a fight when your boys cry if they get hit. We settled for throwing them at hubby instead. Win-win :)

All in all, the perfect way to end a long weekend. Now to get these last 4 weeks of work behind me so I can start maternity leave!

    • I’m actually finding it easier so long as we’re not going uphill :) The jogger is so light and easy to push. I seem to do better in running motion these days than walking!
