Introducing Bessie

Oh boy…we did it. We are now the reluctant owners of a van. I never thought I’d see the day when a box on wheels would find it’s way into our driveway but as I sit down to write there…there she be.

Meet Bessie.
Meet Bessie.

Bessie joined our family over the weekend and as much as I hate that we’ve gone down the road we swore we’d avoid, I know that this is what we need for our growing family. As the boys get older, there is so much more I want to expose them to and experience with them and a van only makes sense for us. I want to load us up for a day at the beach, bike riding through the Provincial parks, running in new and fun places together. I’m really looking forward to being able to do that.

There she be.
There she be.
Excited new van owner. Clearly.

My kids actually love the van already. My 4 year old has been planning all the places we can go in the van now and we can bring his bike with us everywhere. Apparently the only place we drive to is Germany. Because there’s an ocean in the way. You can’t fault that logic. Both kids literally wore themselves out playing in the van tonight. No joke. If I didn’t have to wake them up for work/daycare tomorrow, I’m pretty sure they’d sleep until noon. I’m pretty sure I would too :)

I also discovered the art of coffee cubes. Oh my word, how have I NOT done this before! Some almond milk, splash of maple syrup and vanilla extract and frozen coffee cubes and you have the best summer drink ever!! And the cheapest! Mmmmmmm…

Bliss in the making.
