Mayhem Monday: Prepping for Running Exhaustion

I got to do something this past weekend that I haven’t had a chance to do in way too long: photograph a wedding. Before having kids, I did a lot of photography as a side job and I really loved it. The love hasn’t gone away but the ability and desire to be gone every weekend and spend my evenings editing just hasn’t been the same since the kids came into our lives. I don’t have the time or energy to dive into stuff like this the way I once did and truth be told, my day job keeps me away from my kids enough as it is. I really do miss it which is why I was thankful for the chance to enjoy the celebration of two people who are crazy about each other with their close friends and family. It was a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Thank goodness for Pro Compression! Being on my feet all day Saturday was so easy with these bad boys on! My legs are thanking me.

Last week I managed two runs of a little over 2 miles each. I’m definitely feeling the extra 20lbs I’m currently carrying around. Belly still feels pretty good most of the time but it’s getting bigger every day and my legs are feeling the extra weight and tiring out a lot faster than they normally would. I’m also finding that I need to stop and stretch them out a lot more. I did get my maternity support belt in the mail this week and gave it a try on Friday. I’m not sure if it helps or not. I guess because I’m not at the point where I’m feeling my belly when I run (other than the fact that I have to pee all the time), maybe it’s too soon. I think I’m still going to wear it for the marathon relay next weekend as a just-in-case. I need to figure out how tight I’m supposed to wear it too. Now I just have to wait for my maternity running skirt (oh yes I did!) to come in the mail and I’m set! All this fun maternity stuff. It almost makes me ponder a 4th baby. And by almost, I mean…no

Go Preggy, Go Preggy, Go, Go, Go Preggy.

Go Preggy, Go Preggy, Go, Go, Go Preggy.

Meet the girtle. Hopefully will hold my belly in check for a few more weeks. I may wear it backwards after the baby comes to hold the deflated airbag tummy in. We'll see.

This week is crazy. We will hopefully be picking up our new (to us) van (eek), hubby has to go out of town for a couple of days so solo parenting adventures await me and work is just crazy busy. It’s going to be an exhausting week leading up to the relay on Sunday but I’m excited to run it with my hubby and some good friends. The only downside to relays of course, is that you don’t technically run “with” your team but given that I’m wogging in the range of 13-14 min/miles these days, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be running along side them anyway :) Good thing we’re not racing for time.

I also have a few reviews to post and a giveaway coming up next week! Who needs sleep?!

Have a great week everyone!
