Fit Mom vs. the Aerator, with a side of soccer and a Bia

Last weekend was a beautiful weekend. Lots of great time with my family, being outside, going for a run. It was really lovely.

Toward the end of the weekend, my hubby decided to aerate our poor lawn in hopes of reviving it so he went and rented an aerator from Home Depot in hopes of getting it down during the great weather we were having. Problem was, it was a big of a beast and there was no way he was going to be able to get it out of our hatchback on his own. Assuring me, it was only about 50lbs, he asked for my help. Thinking that 50lbs wasn’t a big deal, I agreed to help him.

Turns out…50lbs was a bit of an understatement. That beast was more like 500lbs. Give or take. As soon as we loaded it back into the car, I knew I was going to pay for it.

And pay for it, I have been. My back, or more specifically, my butt. Well…my left butt. Either way, I’ve been in pain all week and not able to do much more than wallow in it. I’ve been trying to take it easy, stretch, and chiro has been lovely. I can only hope this is short term pain and I’ll be back to normal soon. Walking feels good so I’m hoping to get out for a walk or maybe a short run this weekend to see if that helps. Given that we’re heading into a serious heatwave, that run may have to be indoors but at least if I run into trouble, I’ll be close to home :)

I received by Bia in the mail this week too so it’s even more reason that I want to run so I can test it out! Just setting it up, I’m super excited to see what it can do. The fact that it’s a triathlon watch, has a security alarm feature and is specifically made for women is awesome. Fingers crossed for some miles this weekend!

Fit Boy also has his first soccer tournament this weekend so I’m so pumped! They’ll also have a carnival on for all the families to enjoy as well so I know my kids will be good and tired by Saturday night. I don’t think I can say enough how much fun it is watching 3 and 4 year olds play soccer. There really isn’t anything better.

What are your plans this weekend? Anyone racing? Have a great weekend!
