Now that our big secret is out, I feel so much better. Not that it going to stay a secret much longer anyway. With my very rapidly expanding belly and my not-so-rapidly expanding pants, it was getting a bit painful trying to pour myself into normal clothes. Even with the belly band, it’s pretty uncomfortable by the end of the day. The big thing holding me back isn’t so much the lack of maternity clothes, it’s more that what I’ve acquired is not very winter-friendly and since we’re still in ice and snow, it’s been a bit of a challenge. Oh well. In due time.
Unfortunately, I’m still struggling with major nausea most of the day, every day. Though waking up with a wicked sore throat and aches/chills this weekend has been a slight blessing because: a) it’s killing my sense of taste which includes that absolutely nasty “I just drank a gallon of skunk spray” taste I’ve had for the last 10 weeks and b) my body is so focused on the germ invasion, it’s forgotten to feel queasy. So even though I feel ugh, it’s a welcome ugh compared to my last 10 weeks.
Pregnancy Update: Because the first two paragraphs weren’t enough…don’t worry, it’s not always going to be like this. Maybe.
So I’m 15 weeks pregnant now. Thankfully, food aversions are a thing of the past. The nausea is still brutal but at least I can eat again. It’s a compromise. Energy is still pretty low but I think a lot of that is the medication I’m on for the nausea. Life is basically a do what I can when my body lets me. Some weeks it’s great and others, I can barely get out of bed. It’s the nature of the beast. I’ve heard and have no idea if this is true, that the sicker you are, the healthier the pregnancy. If that’s the case, I’m growing Zeus.
Here is a brief glimpse back over the past few weeks of this pregnancy:
