Hump Day Update: Baby it’s Cold Outside!

First week back to work is half over. It’s been pretty slow going at the office which is always a good thing after nearly 2 weeks away. I was thankful that I was even able to find my way back to the office. And with the cold and streets covered in ice, I was happy to get there in one piece.

Seriously, it’s been hovering around the -45C mark with wind. The irony of it is that all school cancel their buses (it’s too cold for them to run) but still keep school open. I declare that anything that cold means that we should be required, by law, to stay home. In pajamas’s. With lots of coffee. And everyone will be happy. Seems reasonable to me.

Baby it's Cold Outside.
Baby it’s Cold Outside.

In any case, as much as I dislike the extreme cold and being dragged out of bed into the cold, I like routine and getting back to the gym. I got to go to my yoga class yesterday which was simply divine. One day I will conquer standing splits and pigeon pose. I also warmed myself up with an AMAZING green curry stir fry. Holy get in my belly goodness!

This week is also date week!! Last night, hubby and I went to the hockey game (we played horribly and lost…boo!) and got to break in the new jersey’s! Whoop! It was so cold that I wore my Under Armour running tights under my jeans to stay warm. Seriously. And I was perfectly warm. It was awesome. On Friday, we get to go to the theater! Hubby bought us tickets to see Jane Eyre and I’m very excited. Two date nights in one week, who ARE we??

Happy Hump Day! Off to cuddle my babies (and hope the youngest does pee on me…aahhhh potty training) and enjoy my day off!

    • It’s been one of the worst winter’s I can remember. I can do cold but getting windburn on my cheeks walking 2 minutes from my car to the office is where I draw the line and run for my comfy, warm bed.
