Mayhem Monday: Is it 2014 Yet?

Welcome to December!!

I hope everyone survived American Thanksgiving. I know I stayed away from Pinterest and Instagram most of the weekend because the food porn would have been the end of me and I would have eaten my computer. Either way, the weekend is done and here we are back at Monday. I feel like we’re in the homestretch to Christmas and the end of the year. Maybe it’s because I finished my shopping a few weeks ago and don’t plan on going overboard with baking or maybe it’s because I have SO MUCH other stuff on the go that I just want this month to be done so I can breathe comfortably again.

And yes…I know the month has just begun. I’ve got a lot on the go, what can I say.

Aside from absolute time crunch insanity, I did my usual weekly run, only this go round, I did it on Friday instead of my usual Sunday and went 3 miles instead of 2. The reason being that I felt so good this last week that after my treatment on Wednesday my Chiro wanted me to do 2 runs before my next treatment (on Friday of this week) to see if what we’re doing is making a difference. I feel like it is and as much as I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE foam rolling my IT band (the quads, hams and for the most part my calves too have been fine/tolerable. But my IT? I’ve uttered strings of profanity even I didn’t think I knew…), I can’t deny that I think the rolling is making a difference in the overall healing of my leg. It’s also possible that I’m full of hot air and will be lamenting about the pain next week. I’m hoping for the former. We shall see.

This week, I need to focus on studying my brains out for my exam coming up on the 12th. I have a lot of work to do yet so I need to buckle down and make that my priority as much as I can while not completely neglecting my kids and husband in the process. I’m still hoping to do yoga and swim this week but unfortunately, it will have to be a second priority to studying. Thankfully, I cooked my brains out this weekend so all our meals are ready to go so even hubby can feed the kids if my nose is in my books.
