The crunch of studying for this exam at work is starting to get to me. I am a terrible studier and with the very limited amount of time I have, I’m not doing myself any favors by procrastinating. And yet, here I am, tinkering away on my computer, watching Ironman (triathlon…not Tony Stark. Though I wouldn’t be opposed to a little RDJ on my screen right now. Yum.)
I have some time set aside tonight after the kids swimming. I’ll be very happy when this exam is done and I can take a short break before starting the next course in January.
Enough of this learning junk, I’m getting sleepy brain just thinking about it. On to more important stuff: I ran again.
It was a short easy mile on the treadmill as a warm up to my leg workout but it was pain free and here I am a couple of days later, still feeling relatively good. Whether this is the turnaround for me, I’m not sure but things are definitely feeling good. It’s hard to fight the temptation to lace up for a good 10k jaunt around the neighbourhood but I know I’m not ready for that yet. But I think it’s going to be soon. My plan is to do another mile on the treadmill this week and continue with my regular routine otherwise (yoga, strength and swim) and then if all feels good, I’ll take it outside next week and sloooooooooooooooooowly add a few minutes per week and easy back into running. With just two 5k’s left on my race calendar and nothing planned for next year, there’s no pressure to step up my running for any reason other than because I’m ready. In fact, I’m not even looking ahead to next year’s race calendar until the clock strikes midnight on January 1. My only priority these days is getting myself injury/pain free for good while doing the things I enjoy: namely running as much as I’m able to
Never Look Back friends, keep looking ahead.
