This past week saw the return of the dreaded summer cold. I don’t know what it is but those things just suck the life right out of you. I was not happy and I’m sure my co-workers were equally grossed out by my constant nose-blowing but thankfully, I’ve nearly kicked it out the door (again).
It meant not getting in my full training plan for the week. I did my 4 mile recovery run, 2 strength days and long run on the weekend but there was no way speed work was going to happen on Thursday. Strangely enough, I was really looking forward to it. I must have been sick.
I really want to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who got in touch with me about my post last week. It’s probably the most raw piece of work I’ve ever hit publish on and the messages I received from you about it were exactly what I needed. I purposely closed the comments to avoid trolling so that you took the extra step to reach out to me really means a lot. I had the opportunity to speak on one of our local radio stations about Post-Partum Depression and it was very liberating. I won’t be quitting my day job to go into radio anytime soon, don’t worry I was so nervous going in to that interview that I’m pretty sure I had pit stainage down to my ankles. Lovely visual, I know. I hope I made some sense because this topic is so close to my heart and I am so passionate about it, I want to continue to educate and inform whenever and wherever I’m able to.
This week, I’ll be attending the Global Leadership Summit. I’m very excited. I’m actually volunteering this year but I’m hoping to be able to sit through a few of the sessions because they were simply awesome last year.
What awesomeness do you have planned for the week?
