As Baby O approaches his 9-month birthday, I’m struck with the reality that my baby is closer to being a toddler than a newborn now.
I have no idea where these last 9 months have gone. Given the number of sleepless nights and days when I didn’t think I was going to survive until bedtime without going completely insane, you’d think this day would have been a very long time coming. But sadly, it’s gone by too quickly and I’m already finding myself reminiscing about not only his first 9 months but also about how quickly my (not-so) little Fit Boy is growing up as well.
I’ve been marking down all of the milestones Baby O has been reaching, from first solids, first teeth to first creepy crawly slides across the floor (as I’m sitting here typing out this draft, this is where’s he’s ended up, trying to find his way inside his big brother’s play garage).
The other thought that has been on my mind lately is that I will be going back to work in a few months, something I am absolutely not prepared or looking forward to. My plan was always to continue breastfeeding for as long as Baby O wanted to but it has become increasing clear that he is no longer interested (insert uncontrollable sobbing here). Add that when I’m at work all day, nursing on demand is no longer an option.
Fit Boy started cows milk at one year and I remember it not being the easiest transition for him because he didn’t like the taste at all. It took quite a while to get him to drink it with no add-ins to help the flavour. I’d be lying if I said that I anticipated a seamless transition for Baby O.
Through Mom Central, I’ve been given the opportunity to sample out Baboo by Natrel. Here is some info from their site:
Baboo from Natrel is the first dairy product on the Canadian market made with fresh milk specially designed to ensure a smooth transition from breast milk or infant formula to regular milk, providing an ideal complement to the balanced diet of growing toddlers aged 12–24 months.
- Easy to digest, because it has a lower protein content than regular milk and provides a whey/casein ratio close to that of breast milk.
- 4% fat content.
- Contains a natural source of Omega-3 DHA.
- Excellent source of calcium.
- A source of vitamins A, C, D, E and B6.
- Made with fresh Natrel milk.
- Ready to drink and does not need to be diluted or reconstituted.
- Can be stored at room temperature thanks to its packaging, which is 100% impervious to oxygen and light and preserves Baboo’s great taste and nutritional content.
Right now, Baby O is too young to need to worry about cow’s milk and truth be told, I’m adding that milestone to the list of things I hide my head in the sand to try not to think about right now. But when the time comes, I’m glad that there will be an option for me to help him on his journey into toddlerhood.
Now someone please pass this mama some Kleenex because I’m getting teary-eyed!
Baboo is also excited to share that they’re giving away 50,000 free coupons. Head over to their Facebook page and you can get your coupon to try Baboo out for yourself.

Oh em gee!! He is so cute and growing up so fast!! <3 Too cute!!
So adorable. It’s amazing how fast they grow up. This looks like a great product. I’m sharing with my sister–her baby is already 4 months old.
I’ve never heard of a product like this before, it sounds fantastic! I wonder if we have something like this in the US?
I wonder too…
Never heard of this before! We’re going to start transitioning the little one in the next month or two, I’ll have to check this stuff out some more. Thanks!
He is growing up so fast! And of course he is absolutely adorable. I am going to have to keep Baboo in mind if we have another one.
