The Post where I Share my Fitness Vision

I’ve had it on my heart for quite awhile now that I want to make fitness a bigger part of my life. Not just in the sense that I want to run more half marathons, do a triathlon and so forth but I want to give back. I’m lucky enough that I can work a very small amount of extra money that I earn toward a gym membership, new workout clothes and shoes as they are needed. Not everyone has that opportunity and not everyone has the means, knowledge or access to that.

I really want to change that.

A small confession…about 95% of my IRL community don’t know that I have a blog. They don’t know about my passion, my writing, my endeavors. I’ve had a few people that do know about it ask me over the last two years a) how I make time b) what I do and c) can I help them. I’m extremely proud to be asked but I’ve always shied away because I don’t have any formal training and don’t want to be held accountable should something happen because of my lack of training/experience.

I really want to change that as well.

In comes the vision that’s been becoming more and more clear to me lately:

I want to get a personal trainer certification and group exercise certification. I want to do some teaching at a gym in my area. Most importantly, I want to offer my services extremely discounted or free to those in my community (especially moms) who don’t have access or the means to get into shape.

I firmly believe that everyone has the right to be the best, healthiest and happiest they can be. I believe that health and fitness shouldn’t be reserved for those financially able. Disease doesn’t discriminate and neither should health and fitness.

My vision grows by the day. If you stepped inside of my head, you’d be overwhelmed by my vision. I know I am. My brain is about to explode with possibility.

I needed to share this because I’m going out of my mind. I need to think, ponder, scheme and then start saving so that I can afford the certifications I would need. This could take months or years to get off the ground, if I can make it happen.

Have you ever had a vision or dream so big you didn’t know what to do with it? Have you made your dream a reality? How did you do it (translation: HELP!!)

I love your vision!!! I too believe that everyone deserves a chance to enjoy fitness. So many fitness trends have become expensive and it has made getting in shape or living a healthy lifestyle seem unattainable. Your dreams are attainable and wonderful. Good luck with everything.

  6. What an inspiring vision! I have often been in a place where I cannot ‘afford to be healthy.’ So I really appreciate people who are willing to give of themselves to help others be fit!!

  7. I love your vision! I have a similar approach to run/tri coaching, super discounted to make it more accessible to people just starting out. Would love to get a personal training cert at some point to improve my coaching even more. Good luck making your dream a reality!
