The first year in a baby’s life is nothing short of a whirlwind. As a parent with two little ones, I can barely keep up with all these milestones! As much as we try to savour each and every moment, they seem to fly past us and before we can catch it, we’re celebrating more milestones.
I was excited when Mom Central Canada and General Mills contacted me about participating in their First Cheerios Blog Tour. Baby O was just getting into food and showing incredible interest in eating on his own. As with Fit Boy, we’ve started giving him small bits of food to try and eat himself and for every piece that makes it into his mouth, about 10 others hit the floor, get stuck to his face or go missing all together. What makes me smile the most is the sheer excitement that Baby O shows when he gets a few small pieces of food on his dish. It’s even greater when Fit Boy gets excited that his baby brother is growing up and eating the same foods as he is (I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that this same excitement will not translate to sharing his toys…).
Excitement at his new Big Boy milestone!
Cheerios are a staple in our house and have been since Fit Boy was a baby. Even at two and a half, he still gets up every morning and declares that he’s hungry for his “oh-oh’s”.
I’m glad we have these fun firsts to capture and remember as my boys grow. Like most things in our house, it’s the simple things that give us the most enjoyment and the times together now that are building the foundation toward what I hope will be many good times spent together as a family in the future.
If you’d like more info on the First Cheerios Blog Tour, check out their Facebook page and click the Cheerios Mosaic. If you have a picture of your little ones first Cheerios moment, upload it and come Spring 2013, they may make it into the Limited Edition Mosaic Box.
And if this first wasn’t enough for one week, Baby O decided to cut his first two teeth too!
