Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was full of family, fun and racing! More on my 10 mile running race later this week in my race recap but for now, just know that I ran it, it was tough but my blisters stayed under control thanks to some taping and wearing my old runners. I finished strong and hubby finished his 10km race amazingly strong (considering he barely trained for it…bum).
I wish I could say that this week I was going to take it easy and recover from my race (man my quads are sore!) but I’m still on a half marathon training plan so I have 3 runs planned for the week. Plus, I didn’t run at all last week because my blisters were so bad and wearing anything other than flip flops was out of the question.
I might get some serious hate for saying this…but I’m glad summer is over (*ducks*). Don’t get me wrong, I love summer and being outside in the warm sun with the kids. This summer was a bit too hot for me and we ended up staying inside more than we wanted too because of the intense heat. You know it’s hot when Fit Boy asks to come inside after 10 minutes because he’s too hot. Now that the fall is here, it’s still warm but not hot so we can enjoy lots more time at the park, exploring, picnics and more. This Mama is excited!
What’s your favorite part of the summer ending? Is it the cooler temps, fall racing or sending the kids back to school? (no judging here!)

Great job on your race!! I love fall – the cooler temperatures, the changing leaves, the kids back in school, no more cleaning the pool, being able to cover up with yoga pants etc…
Fantastic job on your race! I too am looking forward to the Autumn. I don’t deal with the heat too well.
Give me a cool crisp morning any day. The mornings I was out at 6:30 and sweating before I’d even hit the running path are for the dogs!
