I’m a bit slow when it comes to technology. I am still iPhone-less (I hear audible gasping….), I can’t update my blog without help and I still own VHS tapes that I’d watch if hubby hadn’t forced me to donate the VCR (seriously considering picking one up at the thrift store. I miss me some Lion King!)
My lack of technological savvy used spill over into my workouts too….until now!
I used to (and still do sometimes) write down my workouts. What I did, weight, rep, set, speed so I could track my progress but also remember when I needed to increase the difficulty. I’m also a progress fiend and like to look back and see how far I’ve come during a training cycle.
As I’ve slowly been catching up with technology, I’ve started using apps on my phone to help me track. My favorite is DailyMile and I’ve just recently started using Endomondo now that I have a phone that supports running apps. I’m still figuring that one out but I like that it gives me my mile-by-mile splits, lets me listen to music when I run and plan routes. I haven’t tried all the features but there are some good ones. I’ve tried linking to my Facebook page but so far, it’s not working. I’m really hoping to figure that one out as doing so gives others the option to cheer you one while you workout. During the two tough races I have coming up, I can use all the encouragement I can get.
The best part of these two sites is the cost…in that there is none! (Though there is an Endomondo Pro app that has a cost).
What do you use to track your workouts? Are you a Tech Geek or more Tech Green like me?

I just recently went back on to dailymile and I love it! I find that it’s an easy way to keep track of all of my workouts.
I have a Garmin GPS watch but the Garmin computer application only tracks my runs and I like to look at all my workouts at a glance.
