Walk into any grocery or health food store and you’ll be bombarded with pills, vitamins, mixes and more. If there was a word that came to mind that means overwhelming x infinity, that’s the word I would use to describe the sheer number of products on the market that claim to boost this, burn that, and supply everything you need to survive your day.
I tend to shy away from most supplements mainly because I haven’t done the research into them to see if a) they really do make a difference (sorry but I really do need more than a commercial to tell me if they are really going to change my life) b) are safe and c) are safe in combination with other vitamins and supplements. I rely a lot on my family physician when I’m not sure about something or my local pharmacist because they are a wealth of knowledge and can point me in the right direction (plus, my pharmacist has my drug history and allergies on file and can easily check to see if there is a possibility of an adverse reaction).
What I do take everyday is a multivitamin. Right now, because I’m still breastfeeding Baby O, I am continuing to take my prenatal vitamin daily. I also like protein powders but don’t use those every day. I am just finishing off my awesome GNC Whey Iso Burst and when that’s done, I’m going to be trying a new kind by Vega. I’ve heard great things about it and when I’m in a training cycle like I am now where I’m putting a lot of miles in getting ready for my half marathon, I like to add a scoop of powder to my green monsters for a little extra kick and to help fill me up and recover so I’m not inhaling a bag of chips when the post-workout munchies hit.
Do you have a regular vitamin and/or supplement routine that you follow?

Hey there! I use a protein a couple times a day. I go between Designer whey and Whey Factors. I have to choose ones without artificial sweeteners and those two are good. I can’t take multi’s because of an undefined allergy so I take everything seperately. In the morning I take C, iron, evening primrose oil, apple cider vinegar and raspberry ketones. In the evening it’s calcium, glucosemine(sp?), zinc, E, B, folic acid, fish oil, and more primrose and cider. I also drink a green drink. I use Greens + Wild berry burst. Isn’t very tasty but goes down quick. It’s a good routine and works for me.
