Last week hubby went back to work after a week off and if you’ll recall, I had grand plans to rock myself out. I had great intentions, a plan in place and my gear ready only to hear those words every mother (and wife) dreads…
“Mama…I’m sick”
And so it began…First Fit Boy, then hubby, then Baby O. All sick, all miserable, all needing the only female in house to soothe, rub, tuck in and wipe noses and say “you’ll feel better in the morning”.
It was a long week.
By the weekend, everyone was starting to feel better but the road is still being traveled. Summer colds are not fun. Thankfully, I have so far escaped it.
I did manage to do one brick consisting of a 4 mile run and 560m swim so not a complete loss. I was all prepared to crush an 8 mile run this weekend when, after 3 days of torrential rain, storms and high winds, we finally saw a break in the heat. But as luck would have it, Aunt Flo decided it would be a perfect time to make her way back into my life after over a year vacation.
Yihaw!
But this week I will hopefully be back in action. I likely won’t be swimming but my hope is to get 3 runs in. I’m adjusting my training plan for this week in hopes of making up a few of the miles missed last week. I’m not going to go overboard but I’d like to add a few extra to get my legs back into the groove.
When you miss out on some training, do you try to make it up or continue on with your training plan?

Oh man! When the germs get passed around it’s terrible! I’m sorry! I’m a nanny and once all three of them had it right after the next so there was major sick in the house for nearly a month and a half! Usually if I miss out on some workouts I just pick up where I left off! Have a great day! Spa love!
I’m right there now. We have a sick family and I was actually pretty under the weather too Saturday night and through yesterday. Amazing how hard it is to manage things when a virus comes to visit. Hope all is healthy soon in your neck of the woods!
ahhh the mojo.
) and try.
I just get back up the next day (**WAVES FROM TUESDAY**
again.
