Well folks, another week is in the books. Is it just me or does it feel like time is moving a bit to quickly these days. I feel like I just finish hitting ‘publish’ on one Motivation Monday post and it’s already time to draft the next one.
This past week was another scorcher. With humidity, temps were into the 100′s. It. Was. Hot. The week became more about finding fun things to do that didn’t involve melting and doing our outside time either early in the morning or before bedtime.
Saturday I was scheduled to do an 11km run. I was able to get in 2.5 miles at the track at the local pool my Tuesday swim but couldn’t find anyone to watch my kids for a second swim day. I had my Saturday route mapped out and was able to feed the baby, get Fit Boy settled into playtime with daddy and be out the door just before 7am. It’s a good thing I’m committed to my No Excuses lifestyle because I was so tired that I could have easily gone back to bed for a few more hours (actually, I did for 20 minutes and then dragged my sorry self out the door). Even at that early hour I was dripping with sweat only a few miles in. Thankfully I had my trusty Nuun with me to keep me hydrated. I ended up taking a wrong turn on my first loop that cut out nearly half a km from my overall distance. I didn’t realize this until I got home and checked my distance (the one downside to running intuitively…and forgetting what road to turn off onto).
I felt great after! I was so sweaty that Fit Boy thought I had peed my pants because there was sweat dripping everywhere! He looked at me and simply said: “Mama’s pants aaaaaaaall wet. [Fit Boy] pants aaaaaaaaaaaall dry”. I love that he gets that mommy runs but doesn’t get that mommy sweats. I actually sweated so much that the scab on my forearm from my oven burn fell off.
This week I have 3 runs scheduled and I’m hoping to get in 1-2 swims. My swim buddy is working a different schedule so I will be going on my own.
Have a great week!

LOL. Cant see/tell if my GO ME comment for not skipping cardio this weekend ‘took’ so I’m GO MEing.
Again
Woohoo! Way to beat the heat. You go girl!
I personally love the heat and the sweat that comes with it lol
You do know that you are insane, right? And your sweaty mess picture looks awesome
Nice work! This soup is definitely tough for the long runs (and fast runs, and…). Doing it now makes you stronger for fall, though, so all worth it!
I too have moved to the No Excuses lifestyle and have learned to just going! Way to go on findng ways to beating the heat!!
You are a beast! but in a good way
Great job getting it all in!
Great run!!! My kids always tease me when I come in from a run all sweaty and say I wet my pants too lol!
Awesome job!! I tried a run today but ended up cutting it about 3/4 of a mile short. It was too hot and muggy for me!!
