Welcome to another week of Fast Five Fit Fridays on Fit Mom! In it, you’ll be introduced to some awesome Health and Fitness bloggers in the community and find out a few little tidbits about what makes them unique, what they like (or don’t like) about the fitness world and a few little quirks that set them apart from everyone else!
This week, I am featuring Anne! Let’s get to know her a bit better, shall we?
Anne is the writer behind the food and fitness blog fANNEtastic food, which she uses as a way to motivate others to lead happier, healthier lives through nutrition and exercise, whether encouraging them to try healthy twists on a traditional recipe, to go running for the first time, or to embrace yoga. She aims to show readers that it doesn’t have to be hard or complicated to be healthy – and in fact, it can even be fun!
Anne is currently living in North Carolina, enrolled in UNC Chapel Hill’s Masters of Public Health in Nutrition program to become a Registered Dietitian, but will be moving up to Washington D.C. in early May to begin her dietetic hospital internship! Stop by her blog for delicious healthy recipes, running training plans, health tips, and fun.
I never workout without my: friends! Well, that’s not true – I do sometimes. But I love combining my workout time with my social time, especially since I’m busy. It’s perfect – accountability AND it makes the workout more fun, too!
Biggest fitness brag to date: Getting a new PR at my fourth half marathon back in April! I finished in 1:49:37 and I could not have been more proud of that time – I fought hard for it! I started out too fast, crashed and burned, thought I had totally lost the pace group… and then – I saw them in the distance and was able to use adrenaline and sheer determination to bring it home. You can read more details in my race recap!
Dream race/event to compete in: I’ve lived overseas a number of times and would LOVE to do a race overseas someday. I think it would be so cool to see the differences between a race overseas and the U.S., plus it would be an awesome way to combine fitness with a vacation!
Fitness inspiration/motivation: I’m incredibly impressed by ultra-runners. I don’t want to do an ultra race, but I find reading stories about the people who do them to be absolutely fascinating and very inspiring.
Best advice you’ve received in life: Have fun.
