This past week was stellar. Really no other way to describe it. We had craptastic weather all week long. Dark, dreary and raining but I still got all my training runs in, and then some! I felt good. My legs felt strong. I’m still having issues with my knees and shins but I’m going to give these bad boys a try and see if they help.
I also finally got to run my 5K race. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to strap on a racing bib and pit pat my way across a finish line. I’ll save the official recap for another post but as a teaser, I accomplished my sub-30 goal AND set a PR. I got to run the race with my hubby which made the whole experience extra special. It was awesome.
And if that wasn’t enough, I have undertaken the Runner’s World Run Streak which started last week on Monday and goes until July 04. Basically, you run a minimum of 1 mile every day. On my training days, I run outside and on my off days, I run a mile on the dreadmill in my basement. I don’t want to over-do it with too much distance, so what I’ve decided is to see how fast I can run that mile. My goal is to run it in 8:36 without stopping. Ultimately, I’d love to run an 8 minute mile but that might be a challenge for another time
