Fast Five Fit Friday

Welcome to another week of Fast Five Fit Fridays on Fit Mom! In it, you’ll be introduced to some awesome Health and Fitness bloggers in the community and find out a few little tidbits about what makes them unique, what they like (or don’t like) about the fitness world and a few little quirks that set them apart from everyone else!

This week, I’m featuring Amanda. Let’s get to know her a bit shall we?!

Amanda blogs at Sistas of Strength and recently opened a gym, Skill of Strength, with her husband in Chelmsford, MA. She is a personal trainer (NSCA-CPT), Russian Kettlebell Instructor (RKC), Functional Movement Screen certified exercise professional (FMS) and Precision Nutrition certified professional. Outside of fitness and nutrition she loves to spend time with her family, especially her 10 month old son.

Favorite workout music/song: I love listening to Breaking Benjamin on Pandora. (Yes, I know this is dude music, but it gets me pumped up.)

I never workout without: my liquids. I drink a ton of water when I’m working out and ideally I love to drink a pre-workout before a tough workout for a little energy boost. My favorites include Fast Twitch and Champion Amino Shooter Core.

Biggest fitness pet peeve: People do the same thing day in and day out, but continue to complain that they are not getting results. If something isn’t working, change it!

Fitness goal(s) for 2012: Obtain my Russian Kelttlebell Certification (RKC).(Update: Accomplished April 2012 just 10.5 months after having a baby!)

Best advice you’ve received in life: Life is too short to do something you don’t love. It’s easy to settle into a job because you’re comfortable or it’s easy, but it’s better to find something that you love and work towards making that your career. It’s worth it in the long run even if it’s harder at first.

Want to know more about Amanda? Follow her awesome blog, Sistas of Strength  or connect with her on Twitter and Facebook.

I am a mom to 2 beautiful boys and love everything health and fitness. I am dedicated to improving my own health, setting a good example for healthy living for my family and hopefully inspiring and educating others to do the same in their lives.
