Welcome to another Fast Five Fit Friday on Fit Mom! In it, you’ll be introduced to some awesome Health and Fitness bloggers in the community and find out a few little tidbits about what makes them unique, what they like (or don’t like) about the fitness world and a few little quirks that set them apart from everyone else!
This week, I’m featuring Jen, who is a mom to two beautiful children and wife to a marathon running husband. When she’s not busy with the family or teaching, you can usually find her running or gardening.
Biggest fitness pet peeve: I hate it when I head to the rail trail, a local paved route that follows the river, and people are smoking. It’s a place for community members to go for fresh air and to exercise, not to inhale someone’s secondhand smoke. Gross!
Fitness goal(s) for 2012: Originally I wanted to make 2012 the year I take on a triathlon, but as the year has progressed, my new goals are:
- take on trail running
- run less 5ks and 10ks
- focus more on ½ marathons and marathons
- decrease my 4:15 marathon time
One fitness discipline I’d love to try would be: trail running. We have a local trail running series that begins in July. I’m going to sign up and try this new approach to running.
Fitness Inspiration/motivation: I am inspired daily by my fit husband. He is the reason why I began running in the first place.
Dream race/event to compete in: After cheering on the husband at the Boston Marathon this past Monday, I am now obsessed with running Boston someday. It’s going to take quite a bit of time and training, but I know I have it in me to BQ and run this amazing race.

love these!!! and Jen rocks!
You should definitely take up trail running! It is so much fun plus great to be in the woods! We have great single track mtn. bike trails up near where I live on the @KingdomTrails in Burke, VT that are absolutely spectacular. Good luck too on your new BQ marathon goal. I too am chasing down the BQ. First marathon post kids at the end of the month and I am going for it! Good luck and happy running!
Awesome profile! Way to support the FF family.
Go get that BQ Jen!
