This past week, the ugly side of Spring hit my area. Namely the part that brings days upon days of dark clouds, rain, high winds and sleet. The days where it’s so dark, the lights stay on all day, and the kids and I stayed inside and tried to find new things to do to pass the time. By Friday, I’m pretty sure we were about ready to kill each other. Fit Boy, at the tender age of 2, has so much of my personality in him that I can tell we are in for a bumpy lifetime together. Like me, he hates being stuck indoors for any length of time. And like me, he gets extremely cranky when he is forced to. It was not the best week in the Fit Mom household.
But thankfully, come Saturday, not only did both kids sleep. through. the. night. but the sun came out and faster than you can say “Holy Crap the sun is out!”, we were outside soaking in some natural Vitamin D. Hubby and I loaded the kids up, did the 4km loop to the park and let Fit Boy run and play to his hearts content while Baby O took in the fresh air and slept in the stroller.
Mommy look how fast I am!
Park Buddies! (I don’t always have this shirt on…it just seems that way when you read my posts!)
After getting home, we enjoyed a BBQ of garden burgers in our sunroom for the first time this year. A little piece of heaven. (Mental note: a Happy Fit Boy will eat just about anything put in front of him)
The perfect end to a gloomy week.
What do you do to pass the time when you’re stuck inside with the kids?

If we are stuck inside I usually try to color or cuddle and watch a movie, but my 2 year old has LOTS of energy and loves to be outdoors. So sometimes we will make a tent out of blankets and chairs and eat lunch inside.
Your area too? Today is the first break in the rain and wind for over a week. We are going stir crazy, but going to take advantage of the fun while we can.
Good to see you out and playing. We all need a bit more play in our day. Have a good week.
