Welcome to another week of Fast Five Fit Fridays on Fit Mom! In it, you’ll be introduced to some awesome Health and Fitness bloggers in the community and find out a few little tidbits about what makes them unique, what they like (or don’t like) about the fitness world and a few little quirks that set them apart from everyone else!
I’m Erin, a 23 year old girl from Saskatchewan who loves to run. My passion is fitness and health and I try to lead a healthy lifestyle the best I can – with some chocolate and wine thrown in. I’m also 6 feet tall and yes, the weather is lovely “up here” but it’s a b*&ch to find pants and shoes that fit.
Favorite workout music/song: Bonfire by Childish Gambino. Actually, anything by Childish Gambino. His beats keep me moving and his lyrics are so witty and funny. I’m kind of in love him.
Biggest fitness pet peeve: Gym bunnies. You know, those girls who go to the gym in their spandex and tight tanks with their hair and makeup done and they just walk around? I can’t stand them. When I’m sweating like a he-man on the treadmill and I see them prancing around trying to get attention, it make me angry. The gym is a place to work. I love this quote: “If you look cute after your workout, you didn’t work hard enough”. Truth.
Fitness goal(s) for 201:. I’ve set a few for myself this year! In no particular order: I want to be able to do a 5 minute plank, finish my February half-marathon in under 2:30, run the Queen City half in the summer (local race), start triathalon training, and get my group fitness and Zumba certifications! This is also the year I’ve apparently chosen to leave no room for my social life.
One fitness discipline I’d love to try would be :cross fit. Everyone RAVES about it, but I’ve never tried it. It looks kind of intimidating (hello, blisters all over your hands) but I’ll try anything once!
Dream race/event to compete in: I would LOVE to do a Warrior Dash! It looks like so much fun. That and those cycling events where you bike from vineyard to vineyard in Napa Valley. How awesome would that be?!
