Motivation Monday: 40 weeks and Counting

Yep, as you’re reading this post, I am officially at my due day for this pregnancy and no where near ready to deliver. Or at least baby is no where near ready to come out. Just like Fit Boy, this one is perfectly content in its warm, snug cocoon. Mama on the other hand is getting more than a little antsy.

As I enter into week 3 of my maternity leave, with no baby in site, Fit Boy and I enjoyed some precious one-on-one time. I am definitely making the most of these weeks alone with him because they will be our last and once this baby decides to come, life for him will be very, very different. It’s not been easy because I am very immobile and uncomfortable so racing cars around the house and sitting on the floor doing puzzles for hours on end has definitely taken it’s toll on my back. But alas, only a short while longer…

When I’m not trying to chase and play with Fit Boy, I’ve pretty much got a good amount of meals set aside and frozen for easy cooking for the first weeks. Lots of chicken in a variety of marinades, chopped veggies for easy stir fries, homemade pasta sauce and more. The best way to eat healthy in a pinch is to prepare ahead of time and that’s exactly what I’ve done. And yes…I am most definitely patting myself on the back for that.

I am a mom to 2 beautiful boys and love everything health and fitness. I am dedicated to improving my own health, setting a good example for healthy living for my family and hopefully inspiring and educating others to do the same in their lives.

  1. You rock! Come on, baby. Time to meet the world!

  2. You should pat yourself on the back :) When I was pregnant I ate a ton of Bar-b-Que chips LOL…Most of my weight is gone but I probably still have another 10 lbs to go. If I ate like you that’ probably wouldn’t be an issue :) Good job.

  3. I remember the last few days “alone” with my older son. I remember feeling a bit sad that we’d no longer be “just us.” And even though he doesn’t remember the fun stuff we did during his brother-free days (he was 2 when his bro was born), he has it in his cells and unconscious, I’m sure. He’s 17 now, and that time has sped by.
Hmm, it’s still not showing our posts, but this is us:

I went 10 days over my due date this last pregancy. I know how long the last few weeks feel already, now the days too =P

  5. I remember crying the last few days I had alone with my son. It was so bittersweet. He is a great big brother, and I can’t imagine my life with only one, but I remember how hard it was.

I’m sorry you’re overdue, but it’s super cool you’ve got some extra time to spend with your little guy. And having those meals ready ahead of time is a genius move :)

  15. WOW! That’s super impressive. This is NOT your first rodeo. lol

  16. Jer Marie says:

I remember my last few days alone with my first born, it was a mixed emotions of sadness (for it will no longer just the two of us) and happiness (for we will have another playmate). Good thing you still prefer your own meals, bet you still have an exercise that way, MOM!!! Congrats on your up-coming baby.
