Happy Monday! Today marks the first day of my maternity leave. Here in the Great White North, we are very fortunate to get a whopping entire year off to spend bonding, loving and raising our babies. I wouldn’t trade any of those days for the world (someone please remind me of this in a few weeks when I’m crying from lack of sleep, overwhelmed with diapers and trying to cope with a 2 year old who thinks his word is the be all and end all of all civilization).
Now comes the really hard part: Waiting for this baby to be born, and then working toward getting back into pre-baby shape without the use of a gym. For those who don’t know, my gym is located at work. It’s awesome as anything because it’s accessible any time of the day and I don’t have to go outside to get there. I simply leave my desk, walk 5 minutes and I’m there. It’s wonderful. The downside is that if you go on leave for any reason, your membership gets put on hold until you return to work. I’ve looked in my area for other options but there are non that offer child care so I will be using my home to meet my fitness needs. Thankfully, once the weather warms up, I will be able to take my workouts outside. So if you see a mom at the park with her kids doing jump squats and walking lunges, come say hi
This first week of office-freedom is going to be filled with a trip to buy cloth diapers and a whole latta cooking, chopping and freezing meals to pull out in a pinch over the next few weeks. I could use your input! What are some of your favorite healthy recipes that are easy to prepare and freeze well? Hit me up in the comments!
