Alright people, I’m all for sounding like a broken record because often times I do. But I much prefer it when it’s full of Razzle Dazzle and not the Frazzle. That being said, my activity has been sidelined…again. There are two reasons for this: the first is a ridiculous number of meetings at work this week took the place of my workout time (I workout during my lunch break at work in the gym we have there). The second is that I put my back out…pretty badly. I had nerve impingement issues when I was pregnant with Fit Boy but those didn’t hit until the final weeks and were manageable. This time, I’m in some serious pain…I’m shuffling around like my 91 year old grampa. Not happy. Thankfully, some days are more manageable than others so I haven’t give up entirely. After all, I’m just over 50km away from my movement goal for this year and I want to reach it so badly!
Here’s how my week shaped up:
Monday: 20k bike ride on the stationary bike at the gym (which yielded some pointing and laughing-like behaviour from a group of executives touring the gym…)
Tuesday: Bootcamp baby! I only have 2 bootcamp classes left. I’m going to miss it because it’s a good workout for me and I’m doing it with a friend which always makes it more enjoyable.
Wednesday: Rest Day. Also was day one of intense back/butt pain.
Thursday: Meetings kept me from the workout I had planned. Back was still pretty sore.
Friday: Back throbbing, couldn’t walk to the gym. Pretty sad considering it’s in the building next to mine and I don’t even have to go outside to get there.
Next week, I’m not sure what will happen. As I’m typing this, I have a throbbing back but on the off chance that I get some relief, I’m keeping my workout schedule the same as last week:
Monday-> 40 min bike ride on the stationary bike at the work gym.
Tuesday-> 15 minute elliptical warm-up, 30-45 minutes upper body weights. Bootcamp in the evening
Wednesday-> Day off work, focus on fun activities w/ Fit Boy, if it’s warm, trip to the park, if not, possible indoor playground
Thursday-> 40 minute power walk/wog
Friday-> 20 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes lower body weights.

I wish I could help you. I have been there & had my husband threaten bringing home adult diapers which was my only goal, to avoid them.
I’ll keep you and your goal in my thoughts & prayers. Ice, being gentle, and chiropractor helped me…that and you ladies yanking my leg & rubbing my butt at Fitcation
Hugs! Hang tough mama! You got this!
Ha ha! haven’t had that threat just yet. But I think hubby is tired of my asking him to rub my butt lol!
Yikes – I am sorry your back is giving you so much grief! Just be careful, workout carefully when you can.
You are still amazing.
Have a good week!!
Thank you
Trying to take it easy (emphasis on trying)
That totally sucks. But you are also doing so much activity. Take it easy girl!
Trying, sometimes it’s a matter of survival of those around me that I get out and sweat
Physical pain can be so frustrating when it keeps you from your goals. Take care of yourself and you will be back at 100% much sooner.
Oh no, I hope your back is feeling better soon! Good luck this week!
way to go on all that working out. I think you are doing great. don’t be too hard on yourself for not getting in as much as you had hoped for. So sorry for all that back pain. Take it easy and u will be back and at it in no time.
hugs, April- gaflygirl
I am so sorry to hear about your injury. I can relate since a back injury took me out for quite a while. Take care of yourself and do what you can. Don’t be too hard on yourself either. You’ll be back soon.
The looming “no workout” period I’m coming up on freaks me out but you are absolutely right and I am resolved to only do what I can, when I can.
I hope you’re feeling better soon! Take it easy, you don’t want to hurt yourself more! Good luck getting to your movement goal by the end of the year, I think you will make it!
I’m soooooooo close! I hope I make it! But if I don’t, I know it’s not because I got lazy, I can live with that.
Good luck on your body giving you some sort of relief this week. You are motivated and are adaptable. Now tell your wee ones to be nice to mom for me (the wee one you are carrying and the one on the outside). Get well soon. xoxo
They’re conspiring against me. I don’t know how…but they are.
You, girlie doing so well. Extremely happy for you, but would love to see another picture of you next time – not the 91-year old lady – LOL
Haha,Thursday is always the day of meetings for me too!
I guess it’s a coincidence.
BTW A lot of planning you have there.
