Welcome back to my series on my Healthy Living Alphabet
I love a good success story. Watching or reading about someone overcoming the odds, beating obstacles and conquering all never fails to leave me smiling and yes, a little misty eyed. More than the joy of watching these accomplishments is seeing someone do something they never imaged they could. The reason they succeeded goes beyond developing the physical strength to run a marathon, the determination to lose the extra weight or the courage to conquer an addiction.
They succeeded because they believed in themselves.
I don’t know that I’ve ever watched a “success story” that stemmed from the person in question constantly going “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t” right to the bitter end. At some point, in that journey, the “I can’t” became “I can” and the power of this new found confidence bloomed.
Tell me something you’ve always wanted to accomplish. Is it running a marathon? 5k? Losing weight? Starting to exercise for the first time in your life? What’s holding you back?
I would challenge you to believe in yourself. Don’t doubt your ability to do anything that you really and truly want to accomplish. It’s not going to be easy. Far from it. You’ll struggle, stumble, fall and that’s ok. We all do. But if you believe in yourself and keep pushing forward, you’ll get there. It’s a matter of telling yourself that you can and then you will.
Remember, the only limitations in life are those that we place on ourselves.
So are you going to give up and walk away or believe and push forward until you’ve got me smiling and misty eyed?
