Call me Crazy, but this looks like Fun!

I love a good idea. And I love a good challenge. So when I was asked to be part of a relay team for the Canadian Death Race (just inspires confidence no?), I was a bit unsure of what this meant. After I popped over to the website, I was so hooked that every button in the stupid centre of my brain lit up. This looks like the hardest, but most awesome adventures out there.  In short, I want to do this race!

Sadly, the voice of reason (i.e. my husband) is not so enthusiastic about the idea. He’s never fond of anything that takes me far away from home and costs money (the entry fee is $350…ouch). So unless I can jump into his brain and fiddle with his Stupid Centre buttons, it looks like this race will be on my bucket list for awhile longer. Normally, when it’s something that I really want to do, I just do it but when it takes me away from my family, I have to go with the all parties agree or nothing approach. Sometimes that approach bites.

What do you think? Should I push and try and get in on this awesomeness? Should I wait and try again another year?

  1. Oh I’m so in the same boat! Before kids I would just register for races & TELL my hubby when & where I was racing… But now? Money is better spent on stuff for the kids, groceries etc… So I can only do races under $50.
Perhaps you can strike a deal w hubby (birthday, Christmas, & Mother’s Day gift?) or fundraise for the entry fee?

    • Same thing here. I can do ones that are a bit more but I don’t run in that many so it’s more of an overall cost thing for us. I only have until January to decide. I can’t leave people waiting on me and risk them not getting to compete. Maybe another year. Or maybe I’ll run away from home for that weekend :)
