I love, love, LOVE hump day! Even though I’m not currently working and have been off since the New Year, I’m still quite aware of what day of the week it is. Though my husband likes to joke that everyday is the weekend for me now, I beg to differ. I still get up with him in the morning which means no sleeping in, which is my number 1 definition of what makes the weekend a weekend. I guess that must mean that every day is a Monday for us moms
But hump day means only two more work days until the time of the week where I get to spend a bit more time with my husband and more importantly, he gets to spend some quality time with A., something he doesn’t get a lot of during the week with his busy work schedule. I also get a bit of a break to run some errands solo. Mostly, the weekends are my time to recharge my battery, both mentally and physically. I think that is so important for us to recharge, especially when you’re a mom dealing with post-partum depression. A few hours or minutes alone can make all the difference. If you’re a breast-feeding mom like I am, rent a breast pump, or buy one if you plan on pumping more long term (e-mail me if you want the name of a good pump to use). That way you can get a break and not always have to check the time to be home in time for the next feeding. You will come home feeling like a new woman, I know I do.
